Magnificent place, quiet, very well appointed and comfortable. Gîtes renovated and decorated with great taste and quality materials. Plenty of crockery available. Many activities possible on site. We also really enjoyed the visit and tasting the wines produced by the property. There were 18 of us and we all agreed it was a great place.

We spent an excellent weekend in a green and calm setting, the cottages are very pleasant and well designed and the great plus: the swimming pool with superb weather. We recommend this address as well as the wine from the winegrower.

We have been guests in La Gontrie for the past 10 years! We visit around two to three times per year for business reasons but also to spend some days with the family. It is always a pleasure to come “home” to La Gontrie. To experience the hospitality of Andrea and her family. The cottages are in a brilliant shape with everything you need for a long-term stay. Personally, I like Magnolia most, as the old structure reminds me on the old farmhouse of my grand-parents. Dining in summer with family and guests under the large Magnolia is definitely the highlight of every summer! The outdoor facilities are perfect, too. A very nice pool, table tennis and bikes. Of course the region invites to use the bikes or to hike through the vineyards.A highlight of every visit is the guided tour through the winery with jean Louis …. and the wine tasting. I recommend to arrive with some spare room in your car, so you can take some wine back home.To sum up: You will find a couple of nice houses and accommodations in the region, but none has the flair and the hospitality of La Gontrie.

One of my best memories in many years of traveling all over the place. The host was so generous with suggestions of "today, go to the coast" or "today there's a farmer's market in Cadillac," or "today, have lunch at...." Great, warm and generous hospitality! The facility was charming, out in the country, with a small vineyard. It's a working place. Terrific location, especially now that GPS will have come into its own. (Still pretty stone age in 2009!). You must have a car. February is oyster season, so you can go to the coast and eat fresh oysters fresh from the sea. What a trip.
